On March 18, 2025, the students and teachers of the Primary Section of The Calcutta Anglo Gujarati School visited Birla Industrial and Technological Museum (BITM) in Kolkata. It was an educational field trip, offering a unique opportunity to students to learn through interactive exhibits.

The museum features a wide range of exhibits and aspects of science, technological inventions and industries. It has 12 galleries with interactive installations for children to learn about various scientific concepts including physics, biotechnology, metal, electricity, life science, mathematics, popular science, television, transport and motive power.

All the students, guided by their class teachers headed for the 3D show which was  20 minutes presentation using advanced computer graphics animations and special effects to recreate the excitement of a rocket launch and moon landing. The show was projected onto a large screen providing a visually stunning experience which took us on a thrilling journey through the wonders of the universe.

One of the most fascinating exhibits at BITM is the Coal Mine Gallery, which showcases a life size mock – up of an underground coal mine. The students explored the tunnel and learned about the coal mining process, the machinery used and the challenges faced by the coal miners.   

The Science Fun show is a popular attraction at the BITM which is designed to make science learning fun and engaging. Our students attended the show which featured a series of interactive experiments and demonstrations that showcase various scientific principles and concepts. Our visit to the BITM was an enriching experience.
